Bevacizumab is not indicated for patients with breast cancer that has progressed following anthracycline and taxane chemotherapy administered for metastatic disease.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Glioblastoma<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Bevacizumab is indicated for the treatment of glioblastoma with progressive disease following prior therapy as a single agent. The effectiveness of Bevacizumab in glioblastoma is based on an improvement in objective response rate. There are no data demonstrating an improvement in disease-related symptoms or increased survival with Avastin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>How does Bevacizumab work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Bevacizumab binds VEGF and prevents the interaction of VEGF to its receptors (Flt-1 and KDR) on the surface of endothelial cells. The interaction of VEGF with its receptors leads to endothelial cell proliferation and new blood vessel formation in in vitro models of angiogenesis.
