Another option is 6 mg/kg once daily for 5 days weekly until 100-120 days post-transplantation.
Frequent side effects of Ganciclovir include fever, leukopenia, diarrhea, anemia, events related to catheter use such as infection and sepsis, as well as increased levels of creatinine.
